about

Pierre Hoffmann

FAUST Film+Projekt was founded 1976 by author and documentary filmmaker Pierre Hoffmann.

Ever since the company produced creative documentaries and documentary TV series. It also developed conceptions of international communication projects and produced them in co-operation with partners in about 22 countries worldwide.

Most of our documentaries show real people and how they make their lives in different places of the world. How they experience basics of human life like love, death, struggle, solidarity ( “Viva Rio Viva“ Brazil ). What happens to their dreams and desires ( “Dreams of the Dragon‘s Children“ China ). What they would share with other people of the human family ( “Get Real or Get Lost“, Canada ).

Interested in the potential of film/tv as media of communication we produced the dialogue - project „Filmletters“ 1977, a TV series of 13 x 30 minutes. It is a dialogue between children in a favela of Rio de Janeiro / Brazil and a popular area of Munich / Germany, using short films as their tool of exchange. At that time we sent 16mm copies from Rio to Munich and vice versa. „Filmletters“ was the first documentary series of this kind in German TV, also aired in Brazil and further countries.
Another dialogue - project was the 7 x ‘30 international series “As Women See It“, produced in Italy, Nicaragua, Perou, Senegal, India, Egypt and Germany.

A further step was to develop a conception for a culture project dedicated to a dialogue with international reach, facing the challenges of globalization and digital technology - and working with all media available: local initiatives, educational structures, museums, film, TV, internet, DVD etc.

The result is the global project “BIG TREASURE CHEST FOR FUTURE KIDS“. It is a growing project realized until now in co-production with partners in 15 countries.
