The Treasure Chest in Mexico was created by traditional artists in Ilenalá, Sierra Madre, South Mexico. Since hundreds of years the People in Ilenalá dedicated themselves to creating the most beautiful coffins, boxes and chests fashioned from wood from a tree that exudes an exquisit aroma of fruit and lime which perfume all things stored in them. The BIG TREASURE CHEST FOR FUTURE KIDS is the largest box they ever built.
The Chest was transported by truck to Mexico City and ‚waitedʻ at the MUSEO PAPALOTE, - a beautiful castle of blue tiles in the largest green area of town next to the Mexican Presidentʻs Residence - so that kids from all over the country could bring their Messages to future kids yet to be born.
At the Museo Papalote the Treasure Chest is now exposed under a protective cover of acryl.
